Celebrate International Babywearing Week with us- join us for the final booth of the season!

Natural Parenting Booth The Natural Child Collaborative at the Plymouth Farmers’ Market
Thursday October 7th, 2:30-6:30, - Stephens Field off of Route 3A in Plymouth Center.

Join Holistic Moms Network, La Leche League and local parents for a day at the Farmers' Market. Find local parenting resources and share a storytime around 4:00. This collaboration of local organizations will help families create connections with others through shared values around the environment, health, and creating community.

"Welcoming Birth" Join Holistic Moms Network of Plymouth/South Shore, Massachusetts Midwives Alliance, and Massachusetts Friends of Midwives in our Birth Panel Discussion “Welcoming Birth”. We will feature the 10 minute birth video "Birthday with Naoli Vinaver Lopez and Family" followed by a facilitated discussion with a panel of birth practitioners. Families looking for natural and holistic approach to birth will have a chance to ask questions, and connect with members of the local birth community. How can families create a holistic and natural birth? How does our culture shape our views on birth? How can our community support holistic birth and all new families? As the holidays and end of year approach, take a moment to reflect and share with Holistic Moms Network. We will have a recipe exchange and discussion on “Harvesting Memories.” What memories do we want our children to remember? What special traditions do we want to pass down? Share your tips to make holidays and birthdays meaningful and less stressful! Bring a dish to share, copies of a favorite recipe and your ideas! Connecting for Change Conference
6th Annual Connecting for Change Conference: Family Program

On October 22nd- 24th, 2010 the Marion Institute will be holding its Sixth Annual Connecting for Change Conference in Downtown New Bedford. This year they have added an educational and fun Family Program that will be FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. It will be held at the New Bedford YMCA on Saturday, October 23rd, from 10-5 and Sunday, October 24th, from 10-3.

As with the entire Connecting for Change Conference, they will offer programming that helps provide the tools to create deep and positive change in families, in the community and in the world at large. Both days will be filled with an array of exciting workshops and interactive activities, including:

TOE JAM PUPPET BAND'S GREEN SHOW on Saturday at 10am

A reading by bestselling author and co-founder of the nonprofit Central Asia Institute, GREG MORTENSON, on Sunday at 1:30pm at The Zeiterion Theatre

Kids Yoga

Green Art Activities

Live Animal Presentations

Kids Hip Hop
